The facility covered by this permit consists of five (5) reciprocating internal combustion engines which burn landfill gas collected from the Waste Management Burnsville landfill. The landfill, landfill gas collection system, flare (owned and operated by Waste Management), and MM Burnsville Energy LLC
engines collectively constitute a single stationary source for the purposes of the federal Prevention of Significant Deterioration regulation and the federal Title V permit regulation. The Permittee is authorized to install a sixth engine of the same size as the existing engines.
