Demonstration facility. Operated intermirrently. Pine chips used from ponderosa pines of Black Hills National Forest. The plant is a culmination of development efforts between KL Process Design, the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology, the Wyoming Business Council and the Wyoming Department of Forestry.

Wyoming has a 40-cent, per-gallon ethanol production credit for companies that produce cellulosic ethanol.

Next step would be to up the capacity to 5 mmgpy

As of now, all of the plant’s wood is waste from a sawmill in Rockerville, S.D
