Notes
As of December 2009, this is an active, though highly uncertain, project.

The Maryland Coal Association plans to inject carbon dioxide from a coal plant underground in an effort to extract natural gas in the Casselman Basin.

In January of 2009, Garrett Couny officials sought $2.5 million for a coal-to- liquids project. Officials applied to the Obama Administration's Economic Stimulus Plan for this funding.
